Our Craft

Tanned with Soul

One hide may become someone's lifelong keepsake.
With that weight in our hearts, we meet the leather each day.

Tanning & Finishing

Large wooden tanning drum

Inside massive wooden drums, hides slowly transform over time. The blend of chemicals, the speed of rotation, water temperature, the hours — every variable must be tuned to the hide. Only the hands and eyes of a craftsman who has stood at the floor for decades can judge it right.

The raw-tanned white leather we developed for the Sapporo "Hinomaru Glove" remains our origin and our pride. Color, suppleness, strength — we draw out the character unique to each hide, finishing it by hand to realize our clients' vision.

Our Leathers

Deer leather is our signature material. It has been supplied to a traditional craft maker with over 400 years of heritage — our hallmark.

We also handle a wide range of hides, including cattle and horse, selected to suit each application. For every project, we propose the optimal material.

Quality Control & Track Record

In-house atelier

At our atelier in Tatsuno, we manage the entire process — from hide selection to final finishing — under one roof. Before shipment, craftsmen inspect each hide individually for color consistency, thickness, and texture.

Our leathers have been shaped into bags, wallets, and shoes for premium global brands, into pieces of traditional craft, and even into items presented to the Imperial Household.

Where machines cannot reach,
the hand of the craftsman remains.
That is the strength of leather from Tatsuno.
